Obvious Fake Zakk Wylde Custom

August 26th, 2008

It’s all in the headstock, the person selling this is sure they are selling the real thing but seriously, would you buy it?
It’s called a Zakk Wylde Les Paul CUSTOM dude, like with the Les Paul CUSTOM “Split Diamond” inlay on the headstock, you know, the one that’s MISSING from your guitar.

Also, and this is a picture worth remembering, the back of the headstock has a fake serial number,

notice that it is in the style of the regular Gibson guitars, a real custom shop guitar has a completely different style of serial number, printed – not stamped in like this one, and for the record the Zakk Wylde ones start with ZW. Oh, and the silhouette is also incorrect

Crock Of Corvette – A Fake Les Paul Corvette

August 20th, 2008

The Les Paul Corvette, made in 1996 to celebrate the motor company’s 50th year in business is a very rare guitar; 200 were made, mother of pearl Corvette logo inlay down the fret board, engraved pick up covers, specially carved top, a GM approved finish and various other special bits, a collectors grade guitar. When one comes up on a popular auction site you’ve got to check it out. And it wasn’t what it said it was.

Wow, a Les Paul Corvette for under $20,000! Wait a minute...
