I won’t give the website details, though you can find it quite easily with a google search, but this is being passed off as a Gibson Les Paul Custom. (pictures below are from the site)

Clearly it is a fake, the terrible placement of the Gibson logo on the headstock and the usual three screw truss rod cover. Interestingly – and this is becoming increasingly common, the back of the headstock has a “Made In USA” stamp and has a convincing looking serial number, (see picture below).

Also on the website is the new Epiphone Slash Les Paul and it looks to me like an Epiphone, however an exact same looking instrument was just pulled off eBay a few days after it was listed, if you want one get it from an authorised dealer. Oh the big clues on the Les Paul Custom and the Epiphone Slash Les Paul? The price, $249 each. Another, (less convincing Epi Slash is up there for $320 with case and all the paperwork – but it has a different truss rod cover than the official release, oh and if you fancy just an Epiphone Slash Les Paul case, $0.10!!!
